Mommy loves a quiet Saturday!

I love Saturdays.

I really do.

I can remember as a girl wanting to always be on the go…things to do, people to see. I would go from event to event in what I looked forward to throughout the week.

I am still a very social person.

But, I value quiet more now also.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I have 7 busy blessings that don’t sit still for more than the time it takes to tie their shoes so they can dash outside.

And they all inherited a great enjoying for…talking.

“Mom, watch me!”, “Mommy, look what I just did!”, “Mommy, can I have a snack?”, “Mamma, how will I know if I am in love?”

Couple that with just the busy-ness of life and a quiet Saturday at home is really a treat.

A quiet Saturday here might look something like this:

Mommy gets to sleep in! This is always good. Yes, it is.
Children get to watch approved tv, netflix or video.
Daddy cooks breakfast with his sous-chef, turning it, as always, into an adventure
Late morning family worship.
Then Daddy is outside runnin’ and gunnin’ as fast as he can to get as much done as he can.
The children are right there beside him, many times. In fact, as I am typing, all but two are out running errands to the hardware store, etc. with Daddy.
Mommy gets to catch up on whatever she needs to do, or have some nice quiet time for phone calls, computer, or just to read a book if she wants (snuggling the baby at the same time, of course).
Late supper.
Saturday night baths.
Clean-up and pull together house for the Lord’s Day…remember, many hands make light work. I blogged about 10 ways we can prepare for the Lord’s Day in another post.
Family Worship.
Children in bed.
Chicken put in the crockpot to bring to church the next day.
Down time for Mom and Dad and showers.

Do you have any Saturday traditions?  What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
