Weight loss Wednesday, Week 5…Walnuts!

Another week has come and gone.  It has been 5 weeks for me, since kickoff.

I really was not sure what the scale would tell me this week because, I have to admit, I did alot of “fudging”these last several days.  Sometimes I got so hungry…I just ate the gooey, yummy stuff.  I did not know how weigh-in would go tonight.  But, guess what,  I was down another 2.6 lbs!  That amazed me, but I will not argue with the scale.  🙂

You know what it shows me though…I really was overeating and indulging in the sweets, carbs, etc.  before.  So even the baby steps of self discipline area good exercise for me.  Not to mention, eating more fruits and vegies are much healthier choices.  We have been going to Sam’s Club and buying huge amounts of fruit.  Raspberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, blackberries, strawberries, and bananas.  We have been preparing them ahead of time (except for the bananas) to have big batches of fruit ready in the fridge.  Then when we get hungry we have juicy, delicious zero point snacks chilled and ready.

Speaking of healthier choices, have any of you heard about eating walnuts?   Apparently, eating walnuts can be a hunger suppressor, so if you eat a few walnuts before a meal, you might just eat less.  They are very nutritious for you as well.   I was introduced to this from reading Wendy Jeub’s book Love in a Diet. I now have a huge glass jar of walnuts on the counter and I eat a few now and then.
