These days of media, computers and high technology, sometimes we need a refresher of simple fun that we used to do as children, Misty reminds us of that today with basic instructions in how to make a paper fan.
How to make a paper fan
(For kids in summer) Springtime is when the weather starts to shift from cold to warm, but as we come to the end of spring to switch to summer it really heats up! A paper fan is a great way for the little ones to try and stay cool when they can’t be in the ac or pool.
To begin, you’ll want to gather your supplies for your paper fan.
You’ll need paper (colored or white)
art supplies (markers, crayons, or colored pencils)
and tape or string/yarn
Now you can begin your creativity with your paper fan!
To begin, you’ll want to take a piece of paper and decorate it. You can draw a picture, color on it, write on it, or however you want to decorate it. Then, you’ll take the paper and begin folding it accordion style. This means fold it forward, then backward, then forward, etc. This gives it the fan style.
Once the whole sheet is folded like this, you’ll want to take your tape or string and wrap it around the bottom portion. If using tape, take a decent sized piece that’ll go all the way around the fan handle to secure. If using string, wrap it a few times around to ensure it is tight and secure, then tie a knot in it or have an adult help tie a knot.
Finally, you can use your fan and stay cool. Simple and fun for the kids during the summer!
