We live in a time of levity and silliness. A time where formalism and tradition are frowned upon and casual behavior and frivolity are in it’s place. We see this in the markets, in the workplace, in our homes and yes, even in the church.
This overwhelming “silliness” is no where more seen than in the young men of our day. It is a time when they should be quitting themselves like men, and taking on the mantle of age as they enter their teen years. But instead,it seems the “cool” thing is to have a not-caring, joking, lightheartedness about the things of the Lord and life in general.
But, I would submit to you today that this is not the biblical model…
