Lost Lambie

LAMB ..silhouette.

Fairheaded little girl, lays curled up on the bottom stairs.
“Daddy, come get me! I am ready for lost sheep!” So
precious to hear her little high pitched voice calling and
calling. She waits and when Daddy doesn’t come yet…she
calls again. Such a little, sweet, trembling sheep waiting on her
father. Finally, Daddy’s gentle but heavy stride
descends the stairs. The grin spreads across his face as he looks
down at his precious little lambie. “Oh, there is one caught in the
thicket”, he says. Gently, with quiet strength he raises her
up and carries her up to her bed. What joy is in a father’s
heart to bear his own, next to his strong chest, her downy
head hearing his heartbeat as they walk. What delight he has in hearing
the sweet voice calling him and as he answers that call. It’s their precious little interchange betweensmall child and daddy. How it thrills him to care for
his little ones! And she knows…she is safe.

And is this not so with our Heavenly Father? He delights to hear our cries…again and again. He is ready to gather his little ones in His bosom. Have you cried to Him lately with simple childlike faith? And if He doesn’t come the first time, call again..and again. “Abba, come get me, rescue me, I am a lost sheep!” He will come, sisters, with delight and joy to carry His lambs through the thorns of this life and into the next. Trust Him, Seek Him, Call Him.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:11
