Mother, are you retaining your honor?

A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

Proverbs 11:16

The scripture tells us that children are to honor their father and their mother. And this commandment is one that we are seeking to instill in and train our young ones to value and obey. A child’s duty remains clear that honor is to be given for the sake of the position, even if one is not “worthy” of it through action.

But today I would like to focus on how, as mothers, are called to retain our honor in the home. I can train my children to outward obedience and honor, but am I actually drawing my children in love and making myself worthy of honor to their hearts?

Join me today over at Far Above Rubies where I share my heart in a Mothering Moment.
