Springtime Traditions

I love Spring and Springtime Traditions! How welcome spring it to me this year, as it seems like it is every year!  There is something about spring that is filled with so much hope and beauty. This is especially wonderful after a long winter.  Scripturally the Lord speaks of springtime as a time of refreshment and newness as well.

“My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance. Let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.”  Song of Solomon 2:10-14

So as all the trees are filling out, the birds are in the element, the sunshine warms us once again I am thankful. Spring has sprung!

Spring is also a time of a sweet tradition for us.  Not only do my husband celebrate our anniversary in this month, but Steve has created a simple but so special tradition for his daughters as well.  You see, there is a spot in our area that has some particularity beautiful ornament cherry trees.  These trees blossom exquisitely at this time of year.  And so, every year he takes us all there in the van and picks blossoms to present to his ladies.  A blossom bouquet for me and each of his daughters.

This year a tradition was passed on because my oldest daughter is courting and her young man was also with us.  Steve had him also pick our little priceless bouquets.

So in summary, I share this with you, to say that anything can become a memorable tradition…a small token of love in the family that says to those you are closest to “I love you”.

Do you have any spring traditions?
