Thanksgiving Preparations…

Happy Thanksgiving week to every one of you! I am enjoying looking through your before and after pics from the Master Bedroom Makeover challenge and what a great job you all did!

This week is very busy, just like it is for the rest of you, I am sure. Today my children started working on this project. They are making these for place settings for our guests on Thanksgiving day. Aren’t they cute?

While they were working on it, I had them listening to part 1 of a dramatized version of the story of Squanto.  You can check it out here.

Tomorrow is our cleaning, cooking and preparation day.  We hope to have nearly 30 people here for Thanksgiving and we are excited!  We are going to have 3 large tables, lots of food, fellowship and most of all thanksgiving to the Lord.  8 families hope to be together.

Also tonight I introduced our family to our Ebenezer stones.  We began our collection this evening with a few significant remembrances in our lives of God’s faithfulness to us.  The scripture that I shared with the children was in 1 Samuel 7:12…

Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.”

I was challenged to do this by my dear friend Kara over at The Chuppies. She blogged about her stones of remembrance over at Becoming a Strong Woman of God.

Thanksgiving might be the perfect time for your family to start your own Ebenezer Jar. May you have a blessed day recounting the Lord’s many, many mercies in your lives!

“Give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever!” Psalm 136
