These are the good ole’ days.

Family, Mothering, Spiritual Encouragement / Monday, February 21st, 2011

It was just yesterday that it was my sister and I. And oh how we loved it! We would dress up, write out menus, light candles and make the simplest meal turn into a fancy restaurant for our parents. Now, it is my daughters’ turn. The mysterious luster of candlelight, music in the background, and getting to pull out whatever flowers and fancies they can find in mom’s hutch.

The simplicity of young life, young ladies venturing out into womanhood. The joy in daddy’s face as he reads the heavily misspelled but priceless menu. The practice of the young men of the family in learning some of the more delicate manners of fine dining. And the delight of the little ones to sip milk in fancy, teeny glasses. These ARE the good ole’ days. Let’s treasure them.
